Take 25 north to Santa Fe and then Relief route 599 around Santa Fe. Take 84/285 north of Santa Fe, to route 68 north out of Espanola, to route 522 north out of Taos, to 38 east out of Questa. Red River is at the top of the mountain. See the maps for more details.

Take 87/287 northwest to Dumas and then 87 to Clayton, then 56 to Springer. Get on I-25 north for a few miles and take the Cimarron exit west. Stay on 58 west to Cimarron, then take 64 west to Eagle Nest. At Eagle Nest turn north on 38 to Red River. See the map of town.
